Erik Ten Hag and Man United star ‘barely speaking’ as pair’s relationship ‘broken down’

Manchester United will listen to offers for almost all their senior first team.

Among those available for transfer, according to the Telegraph, is Marcus Rashford.

A shadow of the player he was that scored 30 goals last season, Rashford, 26, has drawn some strong criticism this campaign, including from fans, who booed him off the pitch during last month’s FA Cup semi-final against Coventry.

And now facing an uncertain future as the Red Devils look to shake things up following Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s recent arrival, England’s Rashford could be offloaded in the off-season with his proposed sale representing 100 per cent profit on the club’s books due to the forward’s home-grown academy status.

Man United transfer news: Marcus Rashford up for sale as relationship with Erik Ten Hag reaches breaking point

But finding a buyer for the 26-year-old won’t be easy. The winger is one of the Premier League’s highest-earners, and with his form at an all time low after netting just eight goals this term, it’s hard to imagine United finding a buyer that can match the player’s current deal.

And while it’ll be the responsibility of Ratcliffe and incoming sporting director Dan Ashworth to decide Rashford’s future, in the meantime, according to The Sun, the number 10’s relationship with Erik Ten Hag has reached an almost irreversible point.

Barely speaking, the pair’s working relationship is said to have ‘broken down’ raising major concerns over the stability of the playing squad behind the scenes.

Paris Saint-Germain have frequently been linked with the United winger but the level of their interest remains unknown ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

  1. Why must a homegrown united DNA make way for a foreign coach that have Zero human and player management skills and who is not EPL. Quality, Ronaldo and Sancho was tight about him sack TenHag before the FA cup final lest we’ll thrive in embarassment

    1. You want to sack Ten hag because he’s tough on Rashford right? How do you rate the performance of this player this season. You have to be fundermental on your judgement because the same Rashford had the sticks from past managers like Ragnick and Mourinho(I’ll not want to go into details), Rashford is the reason why sir Jim Ratcliff is working against player power which caused the sacking of previous Managers because of their attitude. Brother there’s more to this you should know. The fans, coaches and management are tired of this player.

      1. Definitely agree over paid babies dont want to put the hard mile in easier to blame manager but he is not blameless either made some poor decisions as well need a change from top to bottom will be 5 years before we get back to where we where

      2. I agree. I feel him and his attitude is part of the problem. If someone offered 50m I pray we take it

  2. Rashford us homegrown and part of oldtrafford DNA. TenHag must leave, Renaldo, Sancho already left because if him , sack TenHag before the FA cup final, lest we want to suffer utter embarassment

  3. Ten hag must go he tried to get rid of maguire and Mctomanay look how they have done.got rid of sancho and played martial probably the laziest footballer ever. £86 million for Anthony and keeps playing him. Obviously has favourites Elanga is better and let him go.refused to play a proper left back sending him out on loan. Poor subs in cup almost cost the game. Total lack of judgement. And he calls this progress.

    1. Hello Scott, its easy to blame the manager because he’s in the forefront of the battle so when the bullet comes, he’s the first to be hit but you forget that the battle is not fought only by the coach. No body blames the players and management but the coach. That has always been the views of the fans all the time. Can you give me an assurance that there’s a coach who can use this squad to lift the premierleague? Can you name the team that has the most injuries this season recording 52 in the premierleague? Can you also tell me teams who has almost 7 of it’s first team members on the injury table yet achieved success? Can you also tell me a team without a technical director who works on tactice with the coach if they can thrive? Scott, there’s more to this that I think you don’t know… mind you Ten hag is the only coach on the premierleague who never had is first 11 for three consecutive games because of injuries… so where is the rythem. Man city, Arsenal, Tottenham hasn’t suffered what Ten hag and man utd is suffering thanks to the Glazers. Finally ask your lself this question why sir Jim is overhauling on the boardroom and refused to touch the coach? Its a simple answer… FEED THE SHRUP WITH MORE MANURE AND GIVE TIME TO GROW AND YOU’LL SEE IF IT WILL NOT GROW INTO A TREE…

  4. Did you see Rashfords efforts in recent games, non existing, embarrassing to say the least. Dont get me started on Wan Bissaka and the rest. Ten Hag is also out of his dephts, his substitutions and game management said it all, probably lost the dressing room too. No more, why must our fans struggle emotionally through this spineless displays during games. We deserves better..

    1. True talk my friend. I’m happy you see that the players share a chunk of the blame. Ten hag is an amazing coach with a huge pedigree he brought from Ajax after three years. He had a good working environment with Mac Overmars and Edwin van der sar, just like sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill, Guadiola and Omar Berrada. So Ten hag and …. (who please)

      1. He could (and should) have had Rangnick at least who quickly saw how deep the problems ran but he didn’t even want to talk to him I believe. Wanted to do it all himself

  5. Cristiano Ronaldo was a legend forced out by Ten Haag, Sancho the same, before dropping Rushford, can Ten Haag tell us what thé players he signed have done to the club?
These many players he has brought in, what have they done?
This Dutchman is so clueless, bring us back Luis van gaal

    1. Your views will Change when the changes are done next season… I have a lot to explain but I don’t have the time to. Ronaldo has sacked the Portuguese coach who took them to Qatar world cup because of his arrogance, same he also did in his current club, also read the comments of Ole gunner Solksjaer about Ronaldo…. about Sancho, Guadiola sold him because of his attitude( late coming and commitment to training), in Dotmund same late coming and refusal to take proper sleep because he’s too busy with his console (video games) same he brought to manutd. So you expect a coach to tolerate such attitude of even not apologizing to him after bringing out in the media? Sancho and Ronaldo shouldn’t be saints now because they’re no longer the club then the manager becomes the devil.

  6. Could the reason for such a downtrend be because of one man? Ten Hag does not have the width of personality to look evenly upon players, Antony and Sancho has been by far the best example of this. His man management is atrocious and a possible reason why the team play as a dysfunctional unit, they are professionals with pride no one could play as bad as United have this season without an underlining reason.

  7. How many wingers have scored 8 goals in a season?

He’s angry because Ten Hag never plays him centrally even when there is no better alternative, and he takes the stick for not scoring as much this year.

  8. It’s funny how many games we’ve been in the lead, and then lost it. People want to purely blame it on Ten Hag.
I’m not saying he’s faultless, he’s had some questionable substitutions, but why are we not questioning the players professionalism and ability to see out a game, failing to even try getting to second balls, their ball watching when defending, is that on Ten Hag?
If our players could take some responsibility, and work on such shortcomings, I believe we could do a lot better.

Goal scoring isn’t a problem, its ridiculous how many 4-3 games we’ve been involved in. Defending is our weak point. Players themselves should work harder on themselves, its not just on Ten Hag.

  9. Ten hag is trash, 80% of the team is trash, their training sessions are trash, the gym is wacky and the passion amidst the fans is declining
Manchester United should be restored to glory.
