Chelsea have conceded 57 goals in the Premier League this season – their worst ever total in the goals-against column in the history of the competition.

These numbers will make damning reading for Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino, who is arguably doing an even worse job than Graham Potter and caretaker manager Frank Lampard did last season.

Arsenal thrashed Chelsea 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium last night, with Leandro Trossard scoring early, while even Ben White grabbed a brace, and Kai Havertz picked up two against his old club.

Meanwhile, this was Arsenal’s biggest ever win against Chelsea in all competitions, and the west Londoners’ worst defeat in a London Derby since they were thrashed 6-0 by Queens Park Rangers back in 1986, as per Opta…

What next for Pochettino after Chelsea humbling?

This was surely only ever going to be an Arsenal win, but the manner of the defeat will surely have alarm bells ringing inside Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are clearly an ambitious club and even if this is a long-term project, the amount of money they’ve put into some of these players means they surely need to be showing more improvement by now.

One imagines there are other managers out there who could do a better job than Pochettino, who hasn’t quite been at the top of his game for a while now, having had a difficult end to his time in charge at Tottenham, while he’s largely viewed as having under-achieved at Paris Saint-Germain.
