Real Madrid’s €100m demand could see Liverpool move for West Ham ace as Salah replacement

It still isn’t clear if Mo Salah will be a Liverpool player next season or not.

Rumours of a switch to the Saudi Pro League won’t go away, and with the Reds due a fee that’s potentially approaching £100m for a player that will be 32 this summer, it’s certainly a deal that makes sense from a club perspective.

The Egyptian King has kept a dignified silence to this point which could be interpreted in one of two ways.

Either he doesn’t want to add fuel to the fire or he’s perfectly happy at Anfield and doesn’t see the need to comment.

Liverpool could sign Rodrygo to replace Mo Salah

It can sometimes seem that words are taken out of context, so staying quiet isn’t necessarily an admission that his future could lie away from the Premier League.

According to reports in Fichajes, the Reds do appear to be hedging their bets a little, as the outlet speculate that Real Madrid’s Rodrygo could be being lined up as Salah’s replacement.

However, they also note that Los Blancos president, Florentino Perez’s insistence on a €100m fee is likely to scupper any deal.

That could see Liverpool go back in for West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, mentioned by Fichajes as one of a handful of other options.

Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen and Juventus ace, Federico Chiesa, have also been linked.

It’s clear that Michael Edwards, his team and whomever comes in as Jurgen Klopp’s replacement, need to work hard and fast to pin down exactly what the status quo is with regards to Salah.

Whether the player stays or goes, and there are cogent reasons for either scenario, it doesn’t help anyone if the situation is allowed to drag on.

Further, Liverpool’s transfer plans can’t really be advanced until the club understand exactly where they stand with regards to their talisman.

  1. Yet more arrogant nonsense about Liverpool and Bowen. The boy is on a seven year contract. He has committed his future to West Ham and doesn’t see LFC as the attraction that they seem to think they are. West Ham are a growing force in the Premier, with gates bigger than Liverpool’s (who will likely decline when Klopp leaves anyway). The decision to stay at West Ham isn’t a difficult one for Bowen. About time these so-called journalists woke up to that.

  2. Liverpool Man City Man Utd arsenal etc think they can take other clubs best players whenever they want they see less successful clubs bring in players that prove to be a great buy and then set about making the player there’s even though the player may have a long term contract with the club he joined the FA should bring in a rule that no approach can be made to buy a player till the player is in his last year to 18months left on their contract with the club that they are currently at something needs to done to stop the rich clubs from using cash to steal other clubs players it’s unfair to clubs that don’t have a endless supply of money
