Exclusive: “No communication” yet on major Man United transfer decision, says expert

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek went out on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt in the January transfer window, but there’s still no decision made on his long-term future just yet.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his latest Daily Briefing column, Fabrizio Romano responded to transfer rumours circulating that suggested a decision had been made for Van de Beek not to stay at Eintracht Frankfurt beyond his current loan spell until the end of the season.

The Netherlands international had struggled for playing time at Man Utd before leaving the club in the winter, but it’s fair to say things also haven’t gone particularly well for him in his time in the Bundesliga either.

Van de Beek once looked like a player with huge potential during his Ajax days, but he just never managed to make the desired impact upon his arrival at Old Trafford, and it’s now unclear what will happen next with him.

Van de Beek transfer: No final decision yet on Eintracht Frankfurt stay

Romano insists there’s nothing communicated yet on Van de Beek staying where he is or returning to United, so it might be a while longer before Red Devils fans get any clarity on this story.

“Another United story doing the rounds involves Donny van de Beek, currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt,” Romano wrote.

“Despite what others are reporting, though, I’m told no decision has been made at this stage. There has been no communication on player side or club side so far, so we’ll have to wait and see if he stays there or returns to Old Trafford.”

MUFC surely need to find a buyer for Van de Beek as soon as possible, but that’s only going to get harder if he fails to impress during his loan spells away from the club, as he also struggled in a brief stint at Everton a couple of years ago.
