Transfer insider Dean Jones has provided insight into Aston Villa’s potential decision regarding Jacob Ramsey’s future.

Despite speculation of a possible exit, Jones suggests that manager Unai Emery may not be inclined to sanction the departure of the academy graduate from Villa Park in the upcoming months.

During the closing stages of the winter transfer window, Aston Villa ventured into the Championship to strengthen their attacking options. They completed the signing of Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough for a fee of up to £16 million. Additionally, there were departures from the club during this period.

Leander Dendoncker embarked on a new challenge by joining reigning Serie A champions Napoli on a loan deal, which includes an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Bertrand Traore departed Aston Villa and linked up with Villarreal after his contract with the club was terminated by mutual consent. However, Jacob Ramsey remained on his boyhood club’s books beyond the February 1 deadline.

According to The Athletic, Newcastle United made an approach for Jacob Ramsey during the closing stages of the winter transfer window. Additionally, domestic rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have also expressed their admiration for Ramsey, indicating their potential interest in testing Aston Villa’s resolve regarding the player’s availability.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently informed GIVEMESPORT that Unai Emery was not inclined to offload the 22-year-old Jacob Ramsey as the February 1 deadline approached, despite interest from Tottenham. As a result, Aston Villa succeeded in retaining Ramsey’s services for the remainder of the campaign.

But Jones has also revealed to GIVEMESPORT a key detail regarding Ramsey.

“I think that Ramsey is still considered a really important player at Aston Villa. There definitely could be offers for him, and I think anything over £50million is going to lead to further conversations.”
