Man City star not excited by ‘uninteresting’ move to Arsenal

Although they were just pipped at the post in the race for the Premier League title by Man City, for the most part of the 2022/23 season Arsenal were a joy to watch.

Their football was free-flowing, their desire and will to win obvious as they consistently overcame in-game setbacks.

Were it not for their late-season wobble, the destination of the trophy would’ve been the Emirates Stadium rather than the Etihad.

In any event, last season is now in the history books and focus will soon turn to the 2023/24 campaign.

For one Man City star, however, the summer could be one of upheaval.

Joao Cancelo spent the second half of the season on loan at Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, with a view to a permanent switch this summer.

However, as Abendzeitung-Muenchen note, the Bavarians have no intention of paying the proposed €70m transfer fee for the 29-year-old.

From the players point of view, he has no intention of returning to Man City, as he finds that proposition, as well as a potential switch to Arsenal, ‘uninteresting’ according to the outlet.

They also detail that Cancelo is ‘drawn to warmer southern regions’ which would suggest he’s angling for a move to Barcelona.

Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg tweeted that talks with the Catalan outfit have taken place, though the club are not in a financial position at the moment to secure any deal.

By setting his stall out as he has, Cancelo could find himself in a real pickle by the time the new season comes around.

  1. If they want £30 million for an ordinary full back of his age and non international status, then Teirney should be worth £60 million. Why do Arsenal sell their players so cheaply? Another example is Balogun valued at only £30 million for a 21 year old who has scored 20 goals should be valued at £60 million. If Balogun or Teirney was a Barcelona or PSG player with the same stats they would each be worth £80 million, but because they play for ( haven’t got a clue how to sell) Arsenal, they are both well undervalued at £30 million. Arsenal should not sell their players so cheaply! They need a new salesman.

  2. It had happened it happened but we must know is there nothing that take God unaware otherwise Eleneny who can play central defense got injured before William Saliba and Takihero Tomiyesu were injured that means and shows that the situation had taken place before we noticed it so let us not mourn better days are ahead believe you me if the Arsenal support Edu and Arteta this season in getting players needed they will achieve this season only let them equip Arsenal as a team let let us know that no club that play Arsenal unprepared because they all know Arsenal are a big club and they take Arsenal very serious so Arsenal need to equip themselves all the time talk of this time already Arsenal are in tough group and we are just coming back to champion league so we will be prepared before they know it we have done the job positively because right now they will see us as underdogs but they will be disappointed

  3. offcourse, Arsenal is a BIG club so they do not have a need to undervalue their stars , sell a player get another one good with that same prize.
