Boehly offered Italian club two different CFC players for 23 y/o winger last summer

It’s being reported that Chelsea offered both Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech to AC Milan in exchange for Rafael Leao last summer.

The Athletic has claimed that the Blues valued Leao at around £87 million and wanted to include a player to reach that value. They offered Pulisic and then Ziyech respectively.

AC Milan was tempted to take one of the players, but in the end, they decided not to and held on to the Portuguese winger.

Rafael Leao

He signed a new deal with the Serie A outfit recently and has a release clause of around £152.1 million.

In 32 league appearances, Leao has scored 12 goals and provided 8 assists. This had made him one of the Italian league’s hottest properties, so it’s no wonder they wanted to tie him down to a new deal.

It would be a shock if Chelsea were to make a summer move for the wideman. There’s no doubt he’s got bags of talent and potential, but the release clause is pretty steep which was likely done on purpose by AC Milan.

New boss Mauricio Pochettino will have to decide of the future of both Pulisic and Ziyech as he prepares to put together his squad ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
