Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target may not be at current club for long, admits new teammate

New Olympique Lyonnais forward Claudio Beauvue has admitted that he doesn’t know whether his teammate Alex Lacazette will still be at the club next season.

27-year-old Beauvue was recruited by Lyon for €4 million this summer, when he swapped En Avant de Guingamp for the Stade de Gerland [ESPN].

The forward had been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Everton and West Ham United both rumoured to be keen on signing him [Sky Sports].

However, the attacker eventually opted to remain in France, choosing to sign for OL, who can offer him Champions League football for the coming campaign.

It remains to be seen whether Beauvue, who scored 17 goals in Ligue 1 last term, will play alongside Les Gones hotshot Lacazette during the coming campaign.

The forward has been heavily linked with a switch to England, with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United understood to be keeping tabs on the French international [Express].

While, as yet, there has been no movement on the forward’s future, Beauvue has admitted that he is not yet 100 percent that his new teammate will still be at the club for the new campaign.

“To play with him?” Beauvue began, when asked about Lacazette by the Progres [via Le 10 Sport], “well, I hope so!

“In football, everyone is in charge of his own career,” he former EAG man continued, “for him, he is at OL, afterwards, I don’t know.

“Of course, I would love to be able to play alongside him.”

Lacazette managed 27 goals in 33 outings in the French top flight last term.
